Hi all,

Happy Valentine’s Day and welcome to our 45 new subscribers - sending our NextGen love your way :)

After 3+ amazing years authoring this newsletter, Shawn was promoted to Partner at LowerCarbon Capital and has passed the torch to a new generation of aspiring VC investors. As I write my debut NextGen newsletter, I’m filled with gratitude for this community built by Shawn and many others before him.

Despite some fresh faces, our new board’s goal for NextGen remains the same - to build the world’s greatest community for emerging venture capital talent. Here’s a quick taste of what you can expect from us in 2024:

1. New Comics - long-time subscribers of the newsletter know that Shawn was quite the Calvin & Hobbes enthusiast. Over his time at the helm he used just about every Calvin & Hobbes comic, so we will be putting out new (possibly edgier) material in ‘24. Hope you enjoy!

2. Nationwide Events - the new NextGen board includes Tamar in NYC and Caro in LA who have ambitious plans to grow the community from our roots in San Francisco across the US. We’re excited to meet many new folks in person.

3. Industry Deep-Dives - the most common piece of feedback I received is that our subscribers want to connect with investors focused on similar markets. Stay tuned for more industry specific content and events in future publications.
