NextGen Newsletter - January 2022
NextGen is a 20+ year old community supporting each new generation of venture capital talent.
HAPPY NEW YEAR Y’ALL! Hope 2022 is off to a fantastic start for all of you. The first month of the year has seen some MAJOR acquisition news ($12.7B for Zynga by Take Two and $68.7B for Activision by Microsoft) and a pretty major shakeup in the pre-seed fundraising landscape from Y Combinator (new standard deal updated to $500K)! Never a dull moment here.
Thanks for bearing with us on our slightly later publishing date this month, we wanted to wait until we could confirm a special fireside AMA that we’ll be hosting with Turner Novak from Banana Capital! Turner will be sharing his solo-capitalist fundraising journey as well as his foray into Tik Tok content creation. Stay tuned for the registration details!
Catch you all soon, hope you stay safe out there! Fingers crossed that the Omicron wave passes ASAP and we’ll all be able to get back to more IRL hangouts soon.
Thanks,
Shawn and the NextGen Board
